About

Consulting to foundations and other funders is a wonderful business, and we revel in it. Every new client, every new project brings with it the opportunity to use our knowledge and expertise, as well as to learn, explore and create for public good. Our passion for the work is based on our belief that foundations in their full array, play a quiet but bold role in enhancing the health, equity and prosperity of our ever-changing world. However, if there is a limitation to consulting it is that our work primarily benefits our clients and those they serve. We would like to broaden that reach, providing access to our historical and current experience for those working in the funding world as staff, volunteers or consultants. This blog will feel more like a personal journal rather than an academic one, but its intent is professional and developmental nonetheless. We’ll take you along to client meetings when interesting and appropriate, or discussions between the two of us over coffee, sharing news and thoughts about our work or the sector. We will provide access to tools we develop or presentations we make (with the approval of our clients), links to interesting sites we come across and guest posts. We envision a casual, interactive blog, and make no claims to being definitive or comprehensive. We are a place, not the place, to go for resources: our purpose is to contribute to the ripples of possibility inherent in our mutual work. Feel free to use our materials, credit us if you will, but our goal is strengthening and enabling you.

And stay in touch. We’d like to be a blog where you can share as well. So please do.

Sincerely,
Sheherazade and Julie
